From the country that brought the world Shakira and Erick Morillo, Colombia's Dj Theresa is the perfect amalgamation of the two superstars - a talented musician and a dangerously energetic performer. Having played alongside top talent ranging from Macy Gray and Roger Sanchez, to The Scumfrog, Ivano Bellini, Stephane Pompougnac and fellow female Dj Miss Nine, Dj Theresa has a following that grows by the minute. Within less than a year, Dj Theresa took New York, dance music's capital, by storm. As the resident Dj for both Pink Elephant and M2 Ultra Lounge (formerly Mansion New York), Theresa is the BIg Apple's rising star, getting requests for her talents from Egypt to Brazil.
As a neophyte producer, Theresa has already gained the attention of dance music's finest. Her remix of progressive house maestro Stan Kolev's 'I Know' will be released on the top UK label Global Underground later this year. Also sure to top the charts is Theresa's remix of Holmes Ives classic house anthem 'Boom' featuring vocals from La Bouche's Lane McRay. Theresa is currently in the studio working on a remix of dance music legend CeCe Peniston to be released in 2010. Over the course of her career, Theresa has djed at the US' finest venues from Mynt and Nikki Beach in Miami to Mansion and Cain in New York and has held residencies at the legendary Spank @1223 in Washington D.C, and currently Josephine's, D.C's finest venue. "I will do anything to make you move...anything," says Dj Theresa half jokingly as she plays a rhythmic beat on her bongos during a WMC rooftop event amidst a stunning view from the top of the prestigious Sony Rooftop Building. As usual, within minutes of getting behind the decks her energy spreads like a wildfire. Pursuing her intellectual curiosity at Georgetown University did not stop her from continuing her obsessions with music and djing. She spent most of her time between the library and wherever her music took her - domestically and globally. Theresa has now played around the world in exclusive events ranging from fashion shows to club openings, special guest invitations as well as many opening acts for DJs she admires. Her career continues to grow and prosper as the world of electronic music contagiously spreads. Live percussion is only the beginning... |

Rui Da Silva |

Rui Da Silva, has long been recognized as one of Portugal’s most precious exports, initiating his industry onslaught in the early 90’s when he formed Portugal’s first dance music label, Kaos Records. Rui’s innovative and quality sounds elevated Kaos to the pinnacle of the house movement, while securing him a licensing to the late Tribal Records and more recently to Twisted Records.
Rui’s success with Kaos ensured global exposure and provided him with the confidence to develop the Underground Sound of Lisbon with close friend, DJ Vibe. Through USL’s underground classics, including So Get Up, Dance With Me, and Are You Looking For Me, in addition to numerous compilations and remix’s, Rui filled a void in a country better known for its port and sandy beaches. In 1999 Rui left Portugal to immerse himself in London’s booming music industry. In London he quickly established a considerable following and a high level of exposure, ultimately enabling him to set up a new label, Kismet Records which quickly garnered praise from the notoriously competitive dance industry, securing Rui a deal with Arista and a spot in DJ booths from Bristol to Buenos Aires. Gaining support from industry icons, including Danny Tenaglia, Sasha and John Digweed, Kismet’s success was further fuelled with their fourth release, Touch Me, shooting up the UK charts to Number One. Paul Oakenfold played Touch Me five times in one sitting at Pacha, while test pressings were caned by Deep Dish, Steve Lawler, and self confessed Kismet fan, Danny Tenaglia. The single quickly turned into that year’s dance anthem. The soulful vocal, trance chords, and deep house groove of Touch Me earned Rui an award for Best Single in Muzik Magazine Dance Awards 2001, as well as a nomination for Best Break Through Artist at that year’s Dance Star Awards. Rui has achieved fame as a remixer, creating his own versions of Jennifer Lopez’s “Play”, Lighthouse Family’s “Happy” and Yoko Ono’s “Walking On Thin Ice”. |
